Despereaux First Official Trailer

The Tale of Despereaux is an upcoming CGI animated movie directed by Sam Fell and Rob Stevenhagen. The film is based on the 2003 fantasy book of the same name by Kate DiCamillo.

The Tale of Despereaux will be narrated by Sigourney Weaver. Besides Emma Watson and Matthew Broderick will lend their voices to Princess Pea and to the mouse Despereaux respectively.

The movie is slated to be released on December 19, 2009.

Here below the first official trailer of the Tale of Despereaux:

Plot:
"The tale of three unlikely heroes - a misfit mouse (Despereaux, voiced by Matthew Broderick) who prefers reading books to eating them, an unhappy rat (Roscuro, Dustin Hoffman) schemes to leave the darkness of the dungeon, and a bumbling servant girl with cauliflower ears - whose fates are intertwined with that of the castle's princess (voiced by Emma Watson)." This movie really reminds Ratatouille... But I don't mind: it still looks awesome! That's a movie my children will crave for watching. Universal has a real blockbuster with the tale of Desperaux. I think it is going to knock out the other Christmas animated movie by Disney, The Princess and the Frog.

Those mouses from the Tale of Despereaux are so cute and Desperaux seems so clever!

This is probably one of the best books I have ever read! I hope the movie does the book justice! If you haven't read the book yet, read it before the movie...you won't be sorry!
